About the Hosts

Rip Griffin

Jeff "Rip" Griffin has been a baseball aficionado since he was eight years old. Growing up, he was an Atlanta Braves fan and became hooked on baseball. As the years grew on, he became a fan of the Houston Astros and is still a fan to this day. Rip graduated from The Victoria College with an Associates of Applied Science in Business Management in 2009. While in college, he did some freelance radio work broadcasting local high school football and baseball games. It was here that he knew that he wanted to work in sports. Over the years, that dream faded as he went to work in the oil and gas industry.

In the fall of 2017, Rip decided to return to school and enrolled at the University of Houston-Victoria. Rip graduated in 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with the concentration in Sports Management. It was during this time that Rip started thinking about possibly doing a baseball podcast, and finally in 2020 "The Rip Griffin Show" was born.
